As Chief Executive Officer and President, Matt Poovey leads the senior management team, setting corporate strategy, culture, values, and behavior. His leadership is characterized by a commitment to excellence and a clear vision for the company’s future.

Since joining CTC in 2001, Matt has managed sales, manufacturing, and operations. His extensive experience in these areas has equipped him with a deep understanding of the company’s core functions. As President, he has been responsible for all day-to-day activities of the industrial sewing thread and specialty yarn supplier for eight years, prior to assuming the CEO duties in 2024. During his tenure, he has overseen significant growth and innovation within the company.

Matt enjoys leveraging his diverse industry experience and technical competence to bring product, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions to a wide range of textile and sewn products industry clients and colleagues. His approach is collaborative, and he works closely with clients to understand their unique needs and challenges. In addition to sharing his expertise in industrial sewing threads and engineered yarns, he continually endeavors to deliver added value to customers by assisting with business strategies, new product development, materials and component sourcing, packaging, and other strategic business needs. His dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in the strong relationships he has built over the years.

Mr. Poovey is a past President of SEAMS, the National Association and voice for the US Sewn Products Industry. His involvement in industry associations demonstrates his commitment to advancing the field and supporting his peers. An active member of the Southern Textile Association, Matt holds a BS degree in Textile Management from North Carolina State University. His educational background, combined with his extensive industry experience, makes him a respected leader in the textile industry.
