The global provider of thread, yarn, and diverse sewn products components, has received Standard 100 Certification by OEKO-TEX. The renowned testing program certifies that CTC’s entire line of industrial sewing threads is free of harmful levels of regulated and other potentially harmful substances.
Champion Thread Company, a leading producer and provider of industrial sewing threads, engineered yarns, and other sewn products components, has achieved OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Certification for its entire line of industrial sewing threads. The certification process provides textile and sewn products manufacturers with a uniform, scientific benchmark for the evaluation of potentially harmful substances in textiles.
“We are proud to have earned this important certification,” explained CTC President Matt Poovey. “With so many of our global clients ramping up their efforts to ensure the safety and compliance of their products, we saw it as important to partner with OEKO-TEX as they are the global standard for textile testing that goes beyond many other national and international standards. We are pleased to provide this level of assurance for our current and future clients.”
The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products and accessory materials. Examples of end-products that can be certified include all types of apparel, domestic and household textiles, bed linen, terry products, and many other sewn products. Testing for the STANDARD 100 covers several hundred regulated individual substances, such as banned Azo colorants, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, and nickel, as well as numerous harmful chemicals that are not yet legally regulated.
Products that are now certified under the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 include all Champion Thread Polyester, Nylon, Cotton, and Flame Retardant (FR) industrial sewing threads.
