For Jim Lee, Vice President of Champion Thread Company, 2025 was a year of measurable progress — not only in sales, but in strategic positioning. Read on for the full 2025 review and 2026 outlook.
Year in Review
“In 2025, Champion Thread experienced robust performance, marked by significant growth in new customer acquisition and increased market share,” Lee said. “That growth was supported by our ongoing investments and commitment to domestic manufacturing, supply chain development, and customer service.”
Unlike growth driven by a single market surge, Champion Thread’s performance in 2025 reflected a deliberate, multi-year strategy focused on capability building and operational reliability.
2025 was a year of measurable progress — not only in sales, but in strategic positioning.
Key drivers included the expansion of domestic dyeing capacity, which allowed the company to respond faster to customer needs and shorten delivery times, as well as continued investment in equipment and technology to improve efficiency, consistency and quality.
Lee also pointed to internal improvements in sales and marketing processes, alongside a sustained emphasis on customer support, as central to attracting new accounts and deepening existing relationships.
Those combined efforts, he said, helped position Champion Thread for continued relevance in an industry increasingly shaped by supply chain risk, reshoring decisions and demand for reliability.
2026 Outlook
Looking ahead to 2026, Lee’s outlook was cautiously constructive. “With expectations of somewhat greater stability in economic and market forces, we were preparing for a potential increase in demand,” he said. “As customers operate in a more predictable environment, we are positioning ourselves to capitalize on improving opportunities.”
That preparation includes continued focus on new customer acquisition and ensuring the organization remains flexible enough to respond to evolving needs and market shifts.
With expectations of somewhat greater stability in economic and market forces, we were preparing for a potential increase in demand.
External uncertainty, however, has not disappeared.
“Tariff uncertainty, changes in consumer behavior and labor market trends continued to hinder customers’ ability to plan and expand,” Lee said. “While the future is still uncertain, we anticipated some stabilization, particularly around tariff policy.”
In response, Champion Thread is staying disciplined rather than reactive. “We remained committed to strengthening our supply chain, improving efficiency and investing in advanced technologies to help mitigate those challenges,” Lee said.
From Lee’s vantage point, one of the most important strategic questions facing the broader industry is no longer whether sourcing will shift, but how. “As sourcing moves away from China, brands must decide whether to chase the lowest global costs or benefit from the stability of reshoring and near-shoring,” he said. That choice, he suggested, will shape the competitive landscape for years to come — determining not only where products are made, but how resilient and responsive supply chains become.
For Lee, the defining variable for 2026 is stability. “Maintaining stable tariffs and predictable business conditions will be vital for our customers’ success,” he said. “Addressing market uncertainty is essential to rebuilding confidence, which in turn drives real progress.”
Champion Thread’s approach, as Lee described it, is built around that principle: invest early, build capacity before demand peaks and remain a steady partner even when conditions are uneven.
